Dear PACs,
Please find attached a letter requesting help in addressing the very concerning issue of underfunding for our School District by the Province, which is not fully accounting for rising inflationary pressures. Unless this situation changes soon, we will almost inevitably see reductions and cuts to school programming that will impact the education of our children.
Please could you circulate this letter to your parent communities and urge them to write to their MLAs as requested. Further, also as requested in the letter, please vote directly or via proxy in support of our BCCPAC proposed resolution (2023.10) at the forthcoming BCCPAC AGM (the resolution is provided in the AGM booklet). This resolution would see the BCCPAC advocate to the Ministry of Education and Child Care to implement changes to the Province's funding model, which is the root cause of the underfunding issue.
