Greetings COPACS participants.

I have established a climate action forum for sharing information between parents and District staff regarding climate action topics.

As as test, lets try a discussion about the CleanBC Roadmap to 2030 and get people's comments on the following:

- Page 23: Public Sector Transportation Fleet

- Page 28: Active Transportation

- Page 33: Cleaner Public Sector Buildings

- Page 37: Reducing waste and turning it into a resource

- Page 49-52: Helping people get the skills they need

- Page 59: Climate change resilience

Question - what is one thing we can do through COPACS to promote the goals set out in this continent

I am testing my user account in this new Forum.

I think one of the most important things we can do is promote active transportation and (electric) buses for students to get to and from school. This aligns with the CleanBC Roadmap.

For example, we could advocate the renewal of the Best Routes Maps to schools that are on the CRD website:

https://www.crd.bc.ca/project/regional-transportation/active-school-travel-planning/active-school-travel-reports

In doing so, we could advocate for updates to the "challenges and opportunities" reports for active transportation at each school and then take those reports to our respective municipal councils.
