At the last COPACS meeting on Thursday January 6, 2011 there were great conversations amongst the many parents in attendance, Keven Elder (School Board Superintendent), Sean Hayes (President of Saanich Teacher's Association), Elsie McMurtry (Trustee) and Helen Parker (School Board Chair). For more than two hours, open and honest discussions, some laughter and personal experiences were shared, which helped to increase everyone's mutual understanding and respect of all the education partners in our district.
Some of the topics that were discussed were: a casual way of voicing a concern before initiating a formal complaint process, student and staff dress code, proper language expectations, FSA tests, mid-year retirements and dry grad funding.
