Parents Urged to "Be Ready for Anything"

Due the ongoing labour dispute between the BCTF and the BC Government SD63 parents are being urged to “be ready for anything”. The district has advised that if a resolution is found the week of August 25th then there is a possibility of a normal start to the school year on September 2nd. If negotiations (or perhaps mediation) carry on through the long weekend with a resolution being found just prior to the scheduled start date of September 2nd, or any time after that, teachers will need a day to ensure classes are ready to welcome students. Parents should be prepared for students to return to classes within 24 hours of an announcement from SD63 that a settlement has been reached. Please monitor their webpage http://www.sd63.bc.ca as well as local media sites for any updates.
